Continental Motors Pvt. Ltd., the sole authorized distributor of Kia vehicles in Nepal has officially launched the much-awaited Seltos SUV in the Nepalese market. Kia Seltos had been creating quite a buzz for some time now in different parts of the globe namely India, South Korea and Australia, and the car is finally here. The base variant of the Kia Seltos has been priced at Rs. 49.90 lakhs and will top out at Rs. 66.90 lakhs for the Tech line variant. As of now, Kia Motors Nepal will only bring the Tech Line variant in the Nepalese market with the GT line variants to follow soon.[gallery size="full" ids="13877,13878,13879,13876,13882"]Manufactured in India by Kia Motors at its Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh, Kia says the Seltos brings sophistication, assertiveness and cutting-edge technology and safety features to the global compact SUV segment. Distributed in Nepal by Continental Trading Enterprises Pvt. Ltd, the sole authorised distributors for KIA in Nepal, the Seltos was launched amidst a program under the presence of His Excellency Mr. Park Young-sik, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Nepal and Mr. Suhrid Ghimire, President- Continental Group.[gallery size="full" ids="13893,13894,13892,13890,13891"]Since its launch in August 2019 in India, Kia has sold 26,840 units of Seltos in less than 70 days. With just a single product in the market, the company became India’s 5th largest auto manufacturer. In achieving this feat, the Seltos has not only overtaken many established and newly launched SUVs in different segments but also led the way in addressing the unmet needs of the car-buying customers by surpassing customers’ expectations in all areas.[gallery size="full" ids="13888,13886,13883,13885,13889"]The Seltos will be available in two engine configurations: 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel, and five trims - HTK and HTK+ in petrol, and HTK+, HTK+( AT), and HTX+ in diesel. The 1.5-liter petrol engine delivers 114 Bhp of power at 6300 RPM and 144 NM of torque at 4500 RPM. Similarly, the 1.5-liter diesel churns out 114 Bhp at 4000 RPM and 250 Nm at 1500 RPM. While the petrol variant will be available in a 6-speed manual gearbox, the diesel variant will be offered with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. Scheduled to be launched within early 2020, the GT line trim of the Seltos will bring 1.4-litre turbo petrol under the bonnet paired to a 7-speed DCT that will make 138BHP and 242 Nm.
